SAF Mainland China Staff

Director (Beijing)
Zhao Ning joined SAF as the SAF China Director in September of 2017. She brings a wealth of experience to this position, having worked closely with U.S. and Chinese institutions of higher education over her career. She has also supported American and Chinese students pursuing international education opportunities, bringing important insight into the unique needs of students studying abroad. Prior to her role as Director of SAF in China, Zhao Ning served as the Center Director of the IES Abroad’s Beijing Center. Zhao Ning has been with IES Abroad since 2006, and during that time has held various roles within the Beijing Center, including Associate Director, prior to her assuming the role of Center Director. During that time, she taught Chinese language classes at all levels, taught and advised more than 2,000 students, and managed more than 40 orientation programs. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language from Northern University of Nationalities, and a Master of Arts degree in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics from Beijing Normal University. She took the OPI Tester Training in June of 2014, and is actively pursuing a tester certificate.


Associate Director (Shanghai)
Tracey Tao joined SAF as a manager in December 2008. Tracey holds a master's degree in Education from the University of Melbourne and a Graduate Diploma in Software Development from RMIT University. She is also a graduate of Xuzhou Normal University in China. Prior to joining SAF, Tracey was a project manager of academic partnership projects at EF China. Tracey underwent three years teaching experience as a subject tutor at the University of Melbourne before she returned to China in 2007. Currently, Tracey is serving as the vice president of the Melbourne University Alumni Association, Shanghai and committee member of the Shanghai Overseas Returned Scholars Association.

 

Manager (Shanghai)
Aimee Qiao joined SAF as a program coordinator in April 2012. Aimee is a graduate of the University of International Business and Economics where she majored in Russian. Before joining SAF, Aimee worked in an international educational counseling company related to visiting study programs. Her duties included providing students with support with their applications for study at the University of California, Riverside; in addition, she was also in charge of daily contacts with domestic partner universities.

Manager (Guangzhou)
Zoe Wang joined SAF as a project manager in Guangzhou in October 2011. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in English) from Hunan Central South Forest and Technology University. Prior to joining SAF, she was responsible for student counseling and US visa application training in Tianjin Kailewei Study Abroad Service Center.

University Relations Counselor (Beijing)
Stone Yang began working with SAF in September 2013. He graduated from Yanshan University with a Master of Tourism Management degree. Before he came to SAF, Stone was working with Sprachcaffe Languages Plus and travelled all over China building strong relations with agents and universities. At SAF, his main responsibility is to develop and maintain good relationships with SAF Chinese member universities and set a clear and effective map for marketing in China.

Program Coordinators (Beijing)
Kathy Li joined SAF as a program coordinator in June 2013. She received a Bachelor of Economics degree from Beijing Wuzi University. Prior to joining SAF, Kathy worked in two international educational counseling companies related to study abroad as a counselor with the responsibility of providing students with study plans and student services.

Sara Zhang joined SAF as a program coordinator in February 2015. She received a Bachelor of Management degree from Beijing Film Academy. Before joining SAF, Sara worked in a Study abroad Agency as a consultant for 4years. Her duties included providing suggestions with students applications(choosing Universities and majors)、visa service and coordinate various problems in the application process.

Grace Cheng joined SAF as LCP coordinator in Nov 2014. Grace got her diploma from Shanxi Vocational & Technical college of Finance & Trade and majored in Business English. Prior to joining SAF, Grace worked in an educational counseling company related to R&D program as a counselor and responsible for providing training plans and services.

Program Coordinator (Guangzhou)
Michelle Li joined SAF as a program coordinator in September 2013. She graduated from Nankai University with a master degree in Chinese philology. During the period of graduate school, she spent one year teaching Chinese to foreign students. She worked in an advertising company as an account executive and responsible for online promotion before joining SAF.

Program Coordinator  (Shanghai)
Iris Chen joined SAF in September 2014 as a student counselor. She graduated from Central China Normal University in July 2007 with a bachelor degree in Management. She has several years of work experience in study abroad industry before starting with SAF.
