Colorado State University (CSU) has welcomed international students for more than 100 years. Right now, there are more than 1,200 international students from over eighty countries that study on the campus in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Colorado State University is composed of a community that blends education and industry, hard work and recreation with a traditional United States' university education that has a progressive touch. 

CSU places a high value on cultural and intellectual diversity, global-minded SAF Scholars would feel at home in the student community. 

Located an hour drive from the major city of Denver, Fort Collins city is known for innovation, technology and entrepreneurialism. Despite the bustle of the active city center, CSU's campus is along the Colorado Front mountain range. That means the beautiful city offers access to one of the best mountains and recreation areas in the country.

Program Strengths

SAF Scholars will likely be able to take classes at CSU that will transfer back to participants' home universities. While not all classes are guaranteed to be open, there are hundreds of classes to choose from over a wide variety of disciplines; more than 150 fields of study.

Course Registration Policies & Procedures

Students will have the opportunity to register online before departure. This process requires departmental/instructor approval. It is the student's responsibility to contact the instructors for approval and overrides. 

Course/Departmental Restrictions

Some courses and departments have limited access. Therefore, SAF Scholars cannot enroll in the following courses prior to their arrival. However, if they choose, they can attend the course on their first day, and check to see if there are any open seats and then obtain permission from the professor.

Meals

SAF Scholars receive a meal plan entitled "Any 10". This allows scholars to eat any 10 meals of their choosing per week across any of the university's dining facilities. Weeks for meals being Saturday morning and end Friday night. Scholars will also receive 20 additional bonus/guest meals to be used at their discretion throughout the semester. A student's dining profile will also be loaded with $150 RamCash to be spent on snacks or on meals that exceed the basic minimums.

Co-/Extra-Curricular Opportunities or Programs

SAF Scholars attending Colorado State University are eligible for all student services including CSU Health Network, Recreation Center, Career Center and more. There are over 500 registered student organizations that students can get involved with. There is something for everyone!

Life on Campus

More than 5,000 students live on-campus at Colorado State University. All students have the opportunity to participate in Athletics through cheering on the university sports teams to playing in sports clubs to experiencing recreation form themselves at the Student Recreation Center, which boasts a 55-foot climbing wall and lazy river in the aquatics facility.
