Consistently ranked as one of the top universities in the world, the University of Queensland has a strong focus on educational support and providing learning outcomes for students. Passion and academic excellence are visible in the classrooms, with the university having received more national teaching awards than any other Australian university. 

Residing alongside the Brisbane River, the 114 hectare campus is home to three lakes, tennis courts, an aquatic centre, and the Schonell Theatre. Many students take part in the numerous extra-curricular activities that span sports to the performing arts.

Named the 8th Most Beautiful City in the World” by Rough Guides, Brisbane offers students the ability to enjoy rainforests, mountain ranges, and outstanding beaches. Diversity exists throughout the city, with residents from more than 200 nationalities, who speak more than 220 different languages.

Two progression options are available: 10 weeks (Spring start) or 15 weeks (Fall start). Students will need to pass their English courses in order to successfully progress to take academic courses the next term.

Co-/Extra-Curricular Opportunities or Programs

Students have the opportunity to participate in numerous clubs and societies. With over 220 organizations, there is something to interest every student. The options range from the Harry Potter Alliance to the Comedy & Improv Club to the Taiko Drumming Team. Music and cultural events are commonplace, with the UQ Union organizing music festivals throughout the year.

Life on Campus

With over 50,000 students and numerous cafes, shops and ongoing events, UQ can feel like its own city. While there is plenty to do on campus, students often take advantage of the close proximity to the city of Brisbane. The center of the city is less than 15 minutes away, making it easy to access all the amenities the large city provides.
